3rd Meeting of the Section of Agronomy and Physiology of EAPR

Islande Hotel, Riga, Latvia September 26-29, 2016

Dear all,

We are pleased to invite you to the 3rd Meeting of the Section of Agronomy and Physiology of EAPR which will be held in the heart of the Baltics – Riga, Latvia on September 26-29, 2016 at Islande Hotel (http://islandehotel.lv/).

Since sustainable agriculture is a part of the global plan of action for the world development, sustainable potato production contributes to implementation of this agenda. During the meeting we want to spotlight sustainability as one of the main themes. Topics of the meeting will cover such fields as organic and sustainable potato production, plant nutrition supply and irrigation, precision agriculture in potato production, tuber quality and nutritional compounds, plant physiology, seed potato production, socio-economic aspects of potato production.

Focus on information and development of the collaboration of EAPR with colleagues of CIP (International Potato Center, Lima, Peru) will be part of the meeting program.

You will have the opportunity to enjoy plenty of scientific talks and poster presentations, meet researchers, producers, experts from different countries, as well as to participate in scientific excursion and social events. The great chance to see our beautiful Riga medieval Old town and the Art Nouveau architecture in the centre of the city will add special value to this meeting. Probably you will be amazed by the fact that an “Opera for potato” was staged while the city was the European Capital of Culture in 2014.

We kindly invite researchers, students, producers, processors and other stakeholders to participate in the meeting.

On behalf of Organizing Committee:

Ilze Dimante and Ilze Skrabule,
